Have You Wondered Why You Aren’t Living Your Dream Life?

Most people have said they want to change a few things in their lives.

Have you admitted to yourself that you’ve said you want more countless times; to yourself and to anyone who listened.

Doing the same thing day after day, wishing for a different outcome can drain your energy.

How much longer will you continue to say, “I need to make some changes in my life…” 👀

It’s a fact that I, too, thought about it for many years before I finally gave myself a non-negotiable start date. Prior to the defining moment, I had buried myself in my career. Continuing to advance was a goal, and the strategies utilized were working well. I loved each of the positions I held and respected my senior leaders.

Several factors can hinder leaders from making positive changes after facing personal challenges:

·   Fear of failure.

·   Interference from the ego.

·   Resistance to change.

·   Desire to maintain a façade of strength.

·   External pressures and a busy professional schedule.

During various moments of clarity, I recognized that I turned a blind eye toward my personal life for years. I emotionally disconnected from it, though it physically remained present. Eventually, I acknowledged that it would remain the same unless I created a plan followed by action-oriented steps.

I chose a specific date to take the first step on my way out. I committed that once I began the mission, there would be no turning back. From that moment forward, I could see and feel freedom on the horizon, and it felt liberating. I’ve worked out for years, so I know what it feels like to lift reps.

The more you do it, the easier it becomes. Trust me, the same principle applies to executing action plans in life.

Here’s what I learned:

· Taking the first step is the hardest.

· Once you’ve done that, you realize it wasn’t as difficult as you believed it would be.

· Once you change your mindset, you can move mountains.

The process of reclaiming your life after experiencing personal challenges by focusing forward can begin with four strategies you can begin today:

🌿A mindset shift.

🌿Putting forth effort to learn growth strategies you can utilize.

🌿Committing to time block on your calendar so you can take consistent weekly effort.

🌿Celebrate your weekly achievements.

 To remain committed:

👏🏾Accept your reality. Acknowledge the role you’ve played in the challenges you’ve experienced.

👏🏾Remain focused on what’s ahead, not what happened in the past.

👏🏾Begin to visualize the future you desire and commit to becoming purposeful. Every step gets you closer to fulfilling your goal.

REMEMBER… fear is only “false evidence appearing real in your thoughts.”
