Licia Thompson-Young graduated from Ohio University and went on to lead highly accomplished teams for over two decades at Macy’s & Bloomingdale’s, Inc. Corporate Services, beginning as a workers’ compensation assistant claims manager and advancing to national director of workers’ compensation return to work, managed care & vendor relations. Additionally, she was a senior consultant in the disability & leave services department at Amazon Corporate.

In addition to founding her individual and employer-sponsored leadership transformation coaching and consulting firm, Licia is a humanities instructor at Work Comp College, teaching values-based leadership.

YThere was a time when I juggled the responsibilities of being a divorced mom of two while caring for my aging parents & continually advancing my corporate career. At times, it felt daunting, yet I never saw myself as broken. I chose to be intentional by enrolling in a coaching program to give myself a year to redefine & reimagine my future. Tapping into the fire within, I stepped out—using perseverance from my competitive years as a sprinter and hurdler—by requesting a separation package from my employer of 22 years to fund establishing my global leadership transformation coaching and consulting firm a few months prior to the 2020 global pandemic and subsequently, writing and publishing my book.
